Darrell Bush was raised on a farm in Illinois. He graduated from Northern Illinois University with a degree in fine art. He began his career in Minneapolis, Minnesota where he worked as an illustrator for five years. It was during this time Darrell began a second career as a fine artist and by 1989 he was a full time painter.
Wilderness art is the term that best describes Darrell's work. Darrell paints a variety of subjects but is known for his wildlife, landscapes and seascapes. The single element that resonates throughout all of his art is his ability to capture luminous light. Darrell's use of light, whether natural or man-made, sets the painting's mood and conveys nature's true story.
