Gilberto Marchi was born in a small town near Sao Paulo, Brazil. He discovered his passion for art and music as a young child. After school he studied music sciences, art and art history at the University of Sao Paulo. In the mid-sixties, Gilberto started his professional career as a painter, working with André Galeria de Arte. He then specialized in realistic painting, favoring strong colors.
In the 1970s, Gilberto taught drawing and painting at the Escola Panamericana de Arte, and became a professional illustrator in 1974. He has published more than 5,000 works of art, including editorial design, advertising design, cinematic design and environmental design. Gilberto Marchi lives for his art.
