Andrea Petrlik Huseinović

Andrea Petrlik Huseinović was born in Zagreb, Croatia, in 1966. She is a graduate of both the School for Applied Art and Design and The Academy of Fine Arts in Zagreb. Andrea is both an illustrator and an author, having written and illustrated numerous picture books, including "The Blue Sky", "My Family", "Ciconia Ciconia", "Maleni" and "Love". These works have been translated into numerous languages, including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, French, German, Italian, Persian, Russian, Spanish, and Slovenian. Her original illustrations for "The Blue Sky" and "Alice in Wonderland" are part of the International Collection of the Chihiro Art Museum in Japan. Additionally, in 2008, UNESCO selected one of Andrea's illustrations from Kasmir Huseinović’s picture book, "Jacob the Editor" (Kasmir promet, Zagreb, 2004), for a World Book and Copyright Day poster on April 23rd.
To date, Andrea has illustrated over fifty picture books for various publishers, including Kasmir promet in Zagreb, as well as British and American publishers such as Top That Publishing, Ladybird, Scholastic, Oxford University Press, Chicken House, Templar Publishing, Tyndale, Child’s Play International, Parragon, Letts, and Allegra. For her extraordinary work, Andrea received numerous International Awards.
